Principal’s Message
For over 50 years, Patterson River has provided students with diverse opportunities in a caring environment and supportive environment. Our decision making at the College is founded on two key principles, firstly that students learn best when supported by strong and productive relationships and secondly, that students need to graduate from the school with a diverse range of technical and emotional skills that will allow them to engage in the future workforce.
Patterson River prides itself on recruiting high performing staff who match the values of the school; Persistence, Excellence, Community & Respect and providing staff with excellent on-going professional development and training.
Set on beautiful large grounds, Patterson River is adjacent to the Kananook Creek & Seaford Wetlands and within walking distance to the beach along with a range of local sporting fields. The College has numerous partnerships with local community groups, seeing itself as an important hub of the local community.
In recent times, the College has seen these efforts reap rewards with excellent VCE results. In addition, the school consistently sees student attitudes to school survey results that puts us in the top 5% of secondary schools and NAPLAN 7-9 growth that is up to double state mean growth.
We offer students a diverse range of co-curricular activities in modern facilities, having just completed over $10 Million on a new STEM Centre, Food Rooms and Year 8 Centre.
It is difficult to describe the full array of opportunities and brilliance of our College, therefore I encourage you to take the time to meet in person. Tours are held each Tuesday at 9.45am. Alternatively you can speak to the office to organise a personalised tour.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
Mr Daniel Dew
College Principal
