The Patterson River Secondary College Library is situated in the centre of the school and is always a hub of activity.
The Library is open for the entire day including before and after school, recess and lunchtime. We have an extensive young adult fiction collection which all students are encouraged to borrow from to support their wide reading. The Library also has a dedicated comfortable quiet reading area as well as a STEM lab for teachers to book their classes into to develop their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Many students access our Library for private study, research, printing and photocopying, to use the available hardware and to purchase stationery items. At recreational times the library is a relaxing, happy place where students spending time reading, completing homework, revising, using computers or enjoying time playing chess or other games with their friends.
A teacher supervised homework club operates on Wednesday afternoons between the hours of 3pm and 4.30pm. Students can also seek support at any time to access the Library’s resources from the Library Team: Ms Patricia Bernardo, Teacher Librarian, and Ms Heather Bartle and Ms Krissy Carson, Library Technicians.
